how to dust properly
- Work from top to bottom- ceiling to floor- at all times. You don't want to clean the floor and then remember that you forgot to dust your ceiling fan, talk about frustrating!
- Choose the dusting supplies that suit you and your needs best. This may be a feather duster, a sock turned inside out, a dusting mitten, a clean rag, a microfiber cloth, a used dryer sheet, a swiffer duster, etc. I personally do not like feather dusters except for spider webs in corners & hard to reach places up high (ceiling fan blades, for example.) They seem to just flop the dust around, when using them on actual furniture. You may prefer furniture polish and you may not, it's entirely up to you. I don't use it much because it can cause a icky milky looking film build-up on your furniture.
- Wipe down all items, from top to bottom, carefully so as not to forget something. Don't forget underneath and behind furniture, where dust bunnies like to hide.
- If you do use furniture polish, don't over-do it. A little goes a long way.
